Last week the Bioprocessing Days took place in Recklinghausen with over 150 participants from industry and academia. Together with IKA, whose new line of habitat fermenters we are selling, we held a workshop on the subject of virtual bioreactors.
Background: IKA has launched a new bioreactor design. For training purposes, the devices in this series can be explored and assembled in a virtual environment. This extension of the classic training on the bioreactor was demonstrated in this workshop and experienced by the participants with VR glasses and haptic controllers. At the same time, there was the opportunity to compare what was learned virtually with the impressions of real reactors.
